Tay Trang/Sophoun – Muang Khua – Ban Sop Chem – Muang Ngoi – Nong Khiaw – 100 waterfalls – Luang Prabang – Ban Long Lao – Kuang Si waterfalls
Day 1: Tay Trang - Muang Khua - Muang Ngoi
Upon finishing the border formality, pick up by our guide and driver and transfer directly to Muang Khua. From there, take the boat downstream the Nam Ou river to the fishing village of Muang Ngoi, where we will spend the night
After finishing the border formality, our guide will pick you up and transfer directly to Muang Khua.
Upon arrival, we will board on a long-tail boat downstream the Nam Ou River exploring one of the most authentic region of the country.
The picnic lunch will be served at one of the sandy beach along the river bank.
Afterward, we continue downstream the Nam Ou River to Muang Ngoi, the village in the middle of nowhere. The scenery along the way is said to be the most beautiful part of the gently Nam Ou River.
Upon arrival in Muang Ngoi, check in your hotel. Free to stroll around this small charming village.
Overnight in Muang Ngoi
Day 2: Muang Ngoi - Tad Mork - Nong Khiaw
Start the day with the easy trek to Ban Na, and the mysterious Tham Kaang; then continue the boat downstream to Ban Sop Kong. Embark on another soft trek to visit the hidden waterfalls of Tad Mork. Spend some time to refresh before continuing the boat to Nong Khiaw
After breakfast, we start explore Muang Ngoi. Here, we will trek to the local village of Ban Na, and the caves of Tham Kaang, which is said to have the supernatural powers.
The lunch will be served at the local restaurant in Muang Ngoi.
In the afternoon, we continue the cruise to the nearby village along the Nam Ou river. Here we take some time to look around and if during a weekday pay the local school a visit to see the charming children as they take part in their classes.
After this we continue onwards to Tad Mork which is located close to the ethnic Khmu village of Ban Sop Kong, an hour trek from the river. At the waterfall, we shall have time to swim and enjoy a picnic lunch.
The last part of today cruise is 30 minutes cruise down to Nong Khiaw whilst the sun is setting. We arrive in Nong Khiaw by around 5:00pm just in time before darkness descends
Day 3: Nong Khiaw - Trek to 100 Waterfalls
Start the day with the cruise along the Nam Ou River to a small village along the riverside. From there, embark on a full day trek to the amazing 100 waterfalls through the virgin jungle. Back to the river by another jungle trail then take the boat back to Nong Khiaw
Start this day of adventure with a peaceful boat ride on the Nam Ou River where you will be able to explore a small Lao village along the riverside. Learn about the villagers and their way of life along this Northern Laos River before beginning the ‘100 Waterfalls Adventure Trail’!
Walking through small streams and rice paddies, you will arrive at the bottom of the 100 Waterfalls which were only first explored in October 2008! For the next few hours you will see only water and jungle and hear the constant sound of clear waterfall cascades. The pools around you are very inviting for a refreshing splash.
Your guide will lead you through the cascades and prepare a local style lunch that you can enjoy on the falls surrounded by amazingly green nature.
A small village trail on the top of the ‘100 Waterfalls’ will lead us on our hike back down into the valley, offering wide views over the expansive Nam Ou valley.
Once back in the village we will have some more time to experience the daily life of the Nam Ou riverside village before heading back to Nong Khiaw (Nong Khiau) by boat. Overnight in Nong Khiaw
Day 4: Nong Khiaw - Mouang Soune (Homestay)
Transfer to Muang Soune, the authentic village nesting along the Nam Ou River. Join the various activities with the local people including farming or fishing. In the evening, join the Baci Ceremony, sharing the dinner, and spend the night with the host family
After breakfast, visit the nearby market to buy the fresh foods before continuing further to Muang Soune, which locates 65Km from Nong Khiaw by the bank of Nam Ou river.
Arriving in the village, you will be welcomed by the host family, before strolling around the village to see the life of local people. We then visit the house of the chief of the village, and talk with him about the living condition, the history, or anything about the village.
The lunch will then be served at the house of the host family.
In the afternoon, you can choose to either relax or to enjoy agricultural activities such as rice planting and harvesting in surrounding rice fields (depending on the season); Traditional fishing techniques (you can sample your catch for dinner!); or walk around the farm and rice field.
If you wish, the dip in the Nam Ou river is very inviting and worth a try.
You may wish to join and help the host with preparing the dinner. This is the chance to learn about Lao cuisine.
Before the dinner, we will join the Baci Ceremony, held by the elders of the village. The Baci ceremony as a traditional ritual of the Lao people expresses the spirituality of the country and is a highly memorable experience and a deep insight into Lao culture for the participants.
During the dinner, the folk tales will be told by the host family and translated by our guide.
You may wish to stroll around the riverbank, and sense the nature, admiring the starry sky before going to bed.
Day 5: Muang Soune - Pak Ou Caves - Luang Prabang
Continue some activities at the village before transferring to Ban Pak Ou, where we will having lunch at the restaurant overlooking the Mekong River. In the afternoon, we take the boat to visit the mysterious Pak Ou caves before continuing further to Luang Prabang whilst the sun is setting behind the mountains
Wake up early, you never want to miss the chance to admire the sunrise over the Nam Ou river, and the nearby mountains.
After breakfast, the morning will be dedicated to the fishing by the stunning Nam Ou river, experience traditional fishing techniques. You will also take the boat trip exploring the surrounding areas.
We come back to the village at 11:00AM to join the transfer back to Luang Prabang.
Along the way, we make a stop at Ban Pak Ou to have the lunch at the restaurant overlooking the Pak Ou caves, and the 2 rivers (Mekong, and Nam Ou)
In the afternoon, we will visit Pak Ou caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims.
From there, we will take the boat downstream the Mekong river to Luang Prabang.
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in town. Free for the rest of the day for your own exploration. Overnight in Luang Prabang
Day 6: Pha Tad Ke Garden & Kuang Si Waterfalls
In the morning, stroll around Pha Tad Ke, the first and only botanical garden in Laos. Learn about the bio-system in Laos. In the afternoon, refresh at Kuang Si waterfalls, take some dip at the natural pool, or trek up to the top of the waterfalls.
After breakfast, we will take the cruise to Pha Tad Ke Botanical garden.
Upon arrival, you will be given a short presentation about the gardens. After that walk through the Ginger Garden and the Ethno-botanic Garden, which is the centrepiece of the garden. Follow the path through the Limestone Walk and take in the amazing mountainous Mekong landscape. Learn how to make a bamboo stick animal at the site of the hunting lodge of the former royal family. Then continue your tour of Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden walking through the Arboretum, Palm Garden and Bamboo
Garden to our viewpoint that overlooks the rice fields. Stop by the Mist House where you will learn more about the importance of biodiversity conservation. Finish your excursion with an optional orchid talk at Pha Tad Ke Nursery.
All of the gardens will have introductory panels and labels. You can always ask our expert staff should you have any questions or require more information.

In the afternoon, we continue the cruise downstream the Mekong river further to Ban Sing, enjoying the peaceful scenery of the countryside.
We then transfer by local tuk tuk to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails. You can also see up close Asiatic bears at the Bear Rescue Centre along the jungle walk to the waterfall.
We then take the boat upstream the Mekong river back to Luang Prabang whilst the sun is setting behind the mountain.
Transfer back to your hotel by tuk tuk

Day 7: Luang Prabang City Tour - Departure
Wake up early to join the daily morning alms giving, and visit the temporary market. Then visit the main sites in the city center including mount Phousi, Royal Palace Museum, Wat Xieng Thong. Free to stroll around before taking the departure flight
Wake up as the sun rises, we will prepare to join the most sacred tradition of Laos, the daily morning alms giving, which dates to the 14th century. More than 200 Buddhist monks depart from various temple to gather their daily meal from the faithful residents sitting quietly on the streets.
From there, we will visit the temporary morning market near the former Royal Palace. Just set on the ground, the local people come here to barter their day’s catch from rice, to vegetable, to fish, or chicken. This is the best chance to experience the flavor of local life
After breakfast, we ascend to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, you will visit Royal Palace Museum, which was built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King Sisavang Vong and his family.
Your city tour continues with a visit to the magnificent Wat Xiengthong, a superb piece of Lao temple architecture, which presents a sweeping two-tiered roof and ornate mosaics including a beautiful ‘tree of life ‘glass montage on the rear temple wall.
We have ample time to stroll around the town for your own exploration before taking the departure flight
