NAM DONG PARK
A stunning waterfall, breathtaking valley views and plenty of places to picnic – Nam Dong Park is a fantastic place to spend the day. This family-friendly park is close to Luang Prabang, yet offers visitors the feeling that they are in the middle of the jungle.
Only 10 kilometres from Luang Prabang, Nam Dong Park was opened in September 2016 and is a huge asset to the town. Nam Dong nature park is a tranquil and well-planned area that offers up a range of activities – from zip lining to fish feeding – and many shady places to sit and enjoy the view.
Walking past a field of roses and an organic vegetable garden you will reach the centerpiece of the park, Nam Dong Falls . There’s a wooden balcony over the gushing water where you can feast on Lao food from the nature park restaurant as you take in the inspiring scenery. Moreover, you can swim in several safe spots and treat yourself to a massage in a treehouse spa. There’s also a public jumbo running between Phousi Market and Ban Long Lao daily. It stops at Nam Dong Dam, close to the entrance of the park – hiring a motorbike or getting a tuk tuk is the easiest way to get there.
Open every day from 10:00 am – 17:00 pm
Entrane fee: 20.000kip/person (under age of 8 years free entrance)
Only 10 kilometres from Luang Prabang, just take the same way to Long Lao village
